I actually made several new pieces today, but these pearl earrings are my favorite! I love the way the pale gray pearls look with the wire-wrapping. I just listed them in my etsy store along with a matching three-strand bracelet. I don’t know why, but for some reason these earrings bring ancient Greece to mind, as if the pearls were plucked right out of the ocean then made into earrings. I actually kind of hope they sell right away just so I can make another pair!
I admit, I normally don’t use pearls because I still associate them with women “of a certain age” (think Barbara Bush). When I do use pearls, I prefer those that are not perfectly round. They just seem more natural to me and more beautiful due to their irregularities. I’m glad I bought these pearls and look forward to finding more ways to use them that are decidedly NOT old fashioned!

I love those earrings! I came across your blog on my sister's (Hot Tamale Art Studio). I checked out your jewelry on Etsy--it's very nice, and affordable!
These are very pretty...and no, they are not Grandma's pearls!
Wow those earrings are lovely!
I'm off to check out your shop!
I sort of feel the same way about pearls, that they age women, but... I'm becoming sort of partial to colored pearls and am considering wearing pearls at my wedding. Still partial to crystals though!
Nice earrings!
I can understand why they're your favorites -- they're gorgeous!
You have stopped the aging process of these pearls with the wire wrappings! Well done. When ever I try wrapping wire like that I lose my patience.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, your jewellery is beautiful!
